Brittany Cartagena, Realtor, Century 21 Mike Bowman Inc. Putting the heart back in home. It all started when I was about 8 years old. I didn’t get into the industry to make money. Instead, it prioritizes you.

My family and I would go on walks through our neighborhood, and would often tour the new homes being built around us. Seeing the bones of what was to be a family's home and what it could be for them was a favorite hobby of mine. Fast forward a few years to when I started to think about what I wanted to be upon graduation, and the first thing that came to mind was to be a real estate agent. I never

knew much about the industry, but after seeing the process of the sale of my parent’s home and our move, and how important each part of the ordeal was for both myself, and them, I knew it was something that I wanted to be a part of. Of course, I didn’t purse real estate until I finally dove in a few years ago, but it’s been a passion for as long as I can remember. I can sit here and tell you I have strong negotiating skills, local market knowledge, and so forth – and of course, I do – but one thing I want to share with you, the thing that is the most important tool I can provide you in your home sale or purchase is my passion. I got into the industry because I fell in love with it. I fell in love with homes, the character each one had, and the beautiful people I got to help transition from one to another. I fell in love with hearing people’s stories, really getting to know their needs for their futures, and focusing on ensuring you found a home that actually met those future goals. Real estate can be a stressful thing, moving out of a home you’ve known for years can be hard, and it can be harder if you don’t have someone to partner with who doesn’t take the time to understand that. My business goes beyond the professionalism I can bring to the table, my years of knowledge about our local market and communities, and past the number of sales I’ve made thus far. How much can you afford? What motivates your move? What do you HAVE to have to make this big transition in your life? You need a real estate agent who understands that, and seeks to know the answer to those questions, and all of the other important ones that make buying and selling a reality for you. Let’s grab coffee or lunch, on me, and we’ll talk about your real estate goals. I’ll get to know your needs, I’ll share the amazing experience I can provide, and we’ll make sure your next move is in the right direction. You don’t need a computer to find your dream house, you need a professional partner who has your best interest at heart from the moment you call to even after we close. I’m doing more than just selling houses in our, I’m helping you bring your dream home to life.

Let me tell you a story about this amazing family.

I met Duncan though a mutual friend, who reached out saying she has a great guy who is looking for a home. His time frame was to buy by the end of May, which gave his kiddo could finish school before making the big move. I suggested he get pre-approved now, just in case he found the one and have to miss out, so we hit the ground running.

When we started, he didn't have an set area, but needed it to be drivable to Benbrook. Based on some recommendations from others, we started in Mansfield and Midlothian, where he saw some BEAUTIFUL houses, but the drive was longer than anticipated.

I mentioned Aledo would likely be an amazing fit, so we switched gears. He decided to limit the search to new homes, and he found a true contender. We set up a showing for that weekend, and of course it went under contract a few days beforehand, but we went to see what was available anyway.

I always tell people that seeing the face of a buyer when the walk into THE house for the first time is my favorite, and this time didn't disappoint! We did look at one more with the same floor plan, but the first one we saw was it. He signed that day and got the ball rolling!

The walk and inspectons went great, and today, his wife got to see it for the first time. She loved it, too, and I got to see the face again! They were all smiles today, and it was truly an honor to help guide them home.

In the 12 years I have been doing this, today's closing easily makes it into my top 3. We were able to get them so much for the price, in an absolutely incredible community, and their joy was infectious.

Congratulations Duncan and Felistas! I hope you fill that house with some amazing memories!

I love blue tape day! My client learned just about everything there was to learn about his new house, and he loved marking up the walls with issues he'd like addressed. Nothing too major, thankfully, but it was still a bit colorful!

Next step, the final walk through and then closing! T-minus
