So many of us moved to Carroll County because we wanted to escape the idea that the solution to all of our problems is additional government spending.

Considering our national levels of inflation, the increase in county home prices, and the increases in property assessments and taxes that come with it, these massive tax increases are ill-timed. Carroll already obtains most of its revenue from homeowners in the form of property and income taxes, in addition to the $4,000 in existing recordation tax revenue the county receives from a median price home sale.

County residents have been forced to adjust our spending over the past few years as costs have risen. This is the wrong time to ask us to shoulder millions of dollars in additional taxation.

If we must live within our means, so should the Carroll County Government.

So this happened tonite at the Carroll County Realtors Awards Gala. I was certainly surprised and am sincerely humbled, to have been selected by my peers for my Community Service. Was a great night, put on by an amazing committee!!
