As of today, Oct. 5, Commerce City no longer requires a building permit for certain projects that previously required one. Despite not needing a permit, these projects are still required to meet the requirements of the building code or the municipal code.

City Council has updated our fireworks ordinance to allow legal Colorado fireworks on July 3 and 4 until 11 p.m. Fireworks are still prohibited on all other days (other than Dec. 31) and hefty fines remain in place for violators: $500 for a first offense and $750 for a second.

Please use fireworks responsibly as you celebrate on the allowed days. Report fireworks violations to the non-emergency police dispatch line: 303-288-1535.
