Serious question!

The do’s and don’ts before you tackle old hardware???? 😬🤔

✔️Do make sure you have all the tools you need. Expect the unexpected, paint stuck into screws, multiple bit sizes, hinges needing a little help lossning even though screws have been removed and not all metal will be alike!

✔️ Purchase a paint stripper that is safe to use indoors.

✔️ Once paint has stripped, lay out to dry for a few hours then flip and dry other side. Once completely dry, prep space and spray paint if desired. (I chose to since the hinges were two different tones once stripped brass and bronze).

✔️ Problems I ran into….
Screws being so warped I was unable to remove old hardware without risking damage. I therefore decided to open some windows and use newspaper, cardboard and painters tape to seal all areas surrounding the hardware and sprayed away! This actually worked out well! Just make sure you have ventilation and are not standing too close to the hardware when spraying as this will cause bubbling and dripping. Also make a barrier between hardware and floor. You don’t want to waste time panicking that paint is now spotted on your floors and having to scrub up what you can before it’s too late. Which leads me to my final piece of advice….

✔️✔️ PREP TIME IS THE BEST TIME. TAKE THAT TIME!

Stripping old 1940s hardware. What have I gotten myself into?!

DONUT DAY SHOULD BE EVERYDAY SAY US DONUT LOVERS!

Little man got his chocolate glazed freebie at Dunkin' yesterday.
Munchkins took the WIN since they were sold out of the handheld yummy circle of delishiousness. Tells me my favorite, a good ol’ Boston Cream has competition! French cruder was also one for the WIN - IMO! Wishing D&D would bring that back! Please guys? Definitely adding all three of those and a bonus flavor, GLAZED to the list.
