Snowbirds of Westport, Connecticut, has earned accreditation from the NHWA.

Dorothee Ancel is from the Loire Valley in France and lived in many countries before relocating to Westport with her husband, Nicolas, and three daughters in 2008. She holds a Bachelor's degree in International Business from ESSCA French Business School and a Master's degree in International Purchasing.

Dorothee’s inspiration was her mother, a very successful businesswoman who was often away from home. One of the things she taught Dorothee was common sense in decision making at a fast pace. Dorothee and her sister were managing their house while still in high school. Soon after Dorothee and Nicolas got married, they started investing in real estate, renovating, and managing properties in France and then in the U.S. During these 25 years, they have seen a lot and gained a wealth of experience, but most importantly, they use logic and smarts in managing all kinds of potential issues.

The team is made up of Dorothee and Nicolas. What started as a service became a business on which they pride themselves. They love to serve their clients: public figures who appreciate their discretion, wealthy families who value trust above all, and people who are out of state on a regular basis. All of these relationships started through a simple, informal conversation.

Today, the Ancels are involved in non-profit boards and are celebrating their fifth year teaching English as a Second Language to refugees. Nicolas works with African and Haitian students, while Dorothee focuses on students from South America. By interacting with them weekly, the Ancels feel they bring the students new energy and hope with their willingness to learn, find a job, and become Americans. All five of the Ancels are now American citizens.
