Westport is a "true" beach town... incorporated in 1907, life on the South Beach revolved around fishing, cranberry farming and logging. In the 50's tourism found Westport as it became the "Salmon Fishing Capital of the World" and from then until the late 70's we welcomed thousands of people every day, all summer!
