HEADS-UP!

At some point in the not so distant future I will be deactivating this GENEVIEVE AURELI REALTOR profile. I have been phasing it out over the past several months.

I created this profile because I wanted to differentiate its content from my personal GENEVIEVE LaCAVA AURELI profile. The lines between the profiles have become blurred over time. As a result I no longer see value in maintaining 2 profiles.

Today Ryan Raveis (Co-President of William Raveis Real Estate, Mortgage, and Insurance) visited the William Raveis Wethersfield office. As usual he was interesting, appreciative, and, most of all, inspiring! I did not have an opportunity to talk with him but at least got to see his car lol.

CBYD is a very important acronym!

CBYD means Call Before You Dig and is a FREE service to anyone in CT who is excavating. The CBYD service enables excavators to obtain information on the location of underground utility pipes and cables in the area of a proposed work site. Yesterday I attended a panel discussion about Building Codes and Permits. It was sponsored by GHAR (Greater Hartford Association of Realtors). The panelists were members of the Building Departments in local towns. The discussion was extremely educational. I was given a list of items that do NOT require a permit. It was enlightening. I haven't written an AND post in awhile and think now is a good time to post one.

I started my career in Information Technology (IT)

AND

after 20 years was laid off by Aetna

AND

was very nervous because I did not have a Plan B career path

AND

got my real estate license

AND

continued to work in IT

AND

did real estate part-time

AND

COVID changed my priorities

AND

I determined I wanted to work more with people and not at home

AND

will be changing my job title in LinkedIn to REALTOR

AND

then had ice cream
