I also work with out of state, and international buyers who visit Chicago and work with me to purchase investment homes, luxury condos and 2nd homes. I schedule our visits far in advance, to give the client exclusive attention for 2 – 3 days of their trip.

The Illinois Homebuyers Savings Account Act. if you continue to live in Illinois, check this out (still in the IL General Assembly, hope it passes!): SB 3497 creates the Illinois Homebuyer Savings Account Act, which allows for homebuyers to receive a tax deduction for funds they save and put toward their first home purchase. Single tax filers may create designated savings accounts and receive a tax deduction of up to $5,000 per year. Google "SB 3497 Illinois Homebuyer Savings Account Act" to follow it through the general assembly and see if they pass it.
