There are two people in my head at every showing.

One of them is standing in the kitchen going oh, this is lovely, look at that light.

The other one is already opening the cabinet under the sink.
They're not fighting. They actually work pretty well together. You should fall in love with a house — that's the whole point. I'm just going to look in a few places while you're doing it, so nothing surprises you later.

Nurses notice things.

I spent twenty-three years as a nurse. Eighteen of those were spent traveling the country on contract. You do that long enough and the noticing gets into your bones.

You can't shut it off. Believe me, I've tried.

I'll be standing in somebody's kitchen talking about countertops, and the whole time part of my brain is going that's a rough cough, honey, are you drinking enough water?

For a while I thought I was supposed to leave that part at the door. Nurse then, Realtor now. Different job, different person.
I've stopped doing that.

Because the things that made me a decent nurse turn out to be the same things that make me good at this one. You learn to really pay attention to a person, not just listen to them. You learn to catch the small thing nobody mentioned. And you learn that people are almost always carrying more than they're saying out loud — a house is rarely just a house. There's usually a reason behind the move, and it's not always an easy one.

So when we walk a property together, you get all of me. The one who notices the old trees out back and how the yard sits after a rain. The one who'll tell you the truth and be kind about it. The one who answers her phone.

Twenty-three years of paying attention. Turns out it doesn't switch off at somebody's front door.

And yes — I'm still going to tell you to watch that step.

Community isn't something you say. It's something you do. ❤️🏡

Saturday night, nearly 30 REMAX Broadwater agents and staff came together to support one of our favorite Ohio Valley traditions, Party on the Plaza.

We're incredibly proud to be a 6-year sponsor of this amazing event, which raises money each year for WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital. Seeing thousands of our friends, neighbors, clients, and fellow community members come together for such a great cause is exactly why we continue to support it year after year.

At REMAX BROADWATER, being part of the Ohio Valley means more than simply having an office here. It means investing in the communities we serve, through sponsorships, charitable giving, volunteerism, and by showing up.

Our commitment doesn't stop with one event, either. This same weekend, we were also proud to support the Wheeling Miners during their championship game at WesBanco Arena, continuing another partnership that reflects our commitment to local organizations and the people behind them.
