What is Radon gas?
Radon is a colorless and tasteless gas present in varying amounts in both ground and water. Radon is produced by the natural radioactive decay of uranium deposits in the earth. Prolonged exposure to airborne radon in high concentrations can cause cancer. The E.P.A recommends that mitigation measures be taken in residential buildings when radon concentration levels are above 4 pCi/L (picocuries per liter of air) and above.
