Call me “old-fashioned," but I’m seeing more and more agents in La Plata using AI to automate selling homes. And while I appreciate what technology can do, there's just some things AI should never replace.

Like what happens when you call a business.

An actual person should answer the phone. Not a bot asking you to "listen to the menu options, as they may have changed, so they can direct your call." 😉
At least, that's what I think.

Which is why I’m making this PSA: when you call (240) 216-6741, you won’t get a bot. You’ll get me. A real person, ready to pick up the phone and help.

Because in a world moving more and more towards automation and advancing technology, I believe some things should stay the same. Like talking to an actual person when you call a business.

Do not push the button!

I really am looking out for you here, I promise. Before you click “Request a tour,” let me tell you what really happens when you click that little blue button…

That one click then sends your information out to not just one, but a TON of Realtors in the area all at once. Before you know it, your phone will be lighting up with calls and texts from people you have never met.

Something else to think about…you have no idea what type of agent is on the other end of the phone. Some might be amazing. Some might have just gotten their license last week. You just don’t know.

Wouldn’t you rather call someone directly that you know you can trust? That you know is knowledgeable and experienced? So do not push the button! Instead, give me a call, and we’ll get you taken care of without your phone going crazy with a million unknown numbers. 😉

The Kentucky Derby is so much more than just a horse race, it’s an entire experience I look forward to every year, and this year was extra special because it was my first time actually going in person, and I loved every second of it.

One of my favorite parts has to be the fashion. The big hats, bold colors, and carefully planned outfits people spend months putting together… it honestly feels like a fashion show that just happens to have a race in the middle of it.

I also love the history and tradition behind it. Knowing it’s been running every single year since 1875 and is the longest continuously held major sporting event in America makes it feel really special, like you’re watching a piece of history unfold in real time.

And of course, the race itself. It’s wild to think all that buildup comes down to about two minutes, but that’s what makes it so exciting.

The anticipation, the energy, the pure adrenaline… it’s over in a flash, but it’s definitely unforgettable. 🏇✨

I drive by Lettuce Be Frank all the time, and today I finally stopped, and I’m really glad I did.

Some of you might remember this spot as the Royal Tea Room. It actually brought back memories for me because a close friend hosted my daughter Madelyn’s baby shower there years ago. It’s so nice seeing this space come back to life in our community.

I ordered the Cobb salad, and it did not disappoint. It was huge, super fresh, and you could tell it was made with care, not just thrown together. They also serve wraps and hot dogs, which makes the name make a lot more sense.

The place was packed, always a good sign, so I grabbed a seat at one of the picnic tables outside and actually slowed down for a minute, which doesn’t happen often.

The staff was incredibly polite, too. One even kindly pointed out that I had walked in the wrong door and later mentioned they’re adding more seating in the front of the historic home, which they definitely need because they’re clearly busy.

If you’re looking for something fresh, quick, and easy in La Plata, this is absolutely worth a stop.

I’ll definitely be back. 🥗

This past weekend I stepped away from the usual routine and spent the morning doing something far more meaningful, crossing the finish line of the 11th Annual Shamrock 5K Run/Walk with my family by my side! 💚🍀

From the excitement of the Lil Leprechaun run to the energy of the 5K through the scenic streets of Bel Alton, the day was about so much more than the race itself. It was about being present, sharing laughs, and creating memories together.

Along the way I even ran into old friends and familiar faces I had not seen in a while, which made the day feel even more special.

We cheered each other on, took in all the festive St Patrick’s Day spirit, and celebrated afterward with great food and even better company.

Moments like this are a reminder that it is not about how fast you go, but who you share the journey with.

Already looking forward to next year. Who is in? 🏃‍♀️🍀
