The Middle Fork of the Flathead River is at the heart of the community in West Glacier, Montana. When a group of community members came together to celebrate the river, inspiration flowed. Meet some of the people most passionate about the Middle Fork.

Montana has approximately 169,829 miles of river, of which 388 miles are designated as wild & scenic—approximately 2/10ths of 1% of the state's river miles (www.rivers.gov). These 3 rivers are Montana's designated Wild & Scenic Rivers:

+Flathead Wild & Scenic River (Middle, North, & South Forks -219 miles)
+East Rosebud Creek (20 miles)
+Missouri River (Fort Benton downstream to Robinson Bridge-149 miles)

DID YOU KNOW:
+Alaska has 3,210 miles of rivers designated, followed by Oregon with1,838 miles, California with 1,714 miles, Idaho with 824, and Michigan with 625 miles.
+ 20 streams and approximately 200 miles of river in and around Montana's Crown of the Continent region are being proposed as part of the Wild and Scenic River System. Learn more: https://bit.ly/3zUcLny
