Girl dad, championed his daughters at all times, always made us feel strong and empowered and safe. He would have been 87 today. Gone way too soon, he passed in 2001. We miss him every day but his presence is always with us.

Prices of single family homes in Orange County, CA finished up about 9% from where they began in 2023. This, despite the fact that sales activity fell dramatically in the second half of the year.

Experts predict there will be a big surge in activity as we roll into 2024 and interest rates decline from their 2023 levels. Pent up buyer demand with a continued lack of inventory bodes well for sellers again in 2024.

You may have been in love with your rate, but not your house this past year. This should be a good year to jump off the fence and buy the dream, move out of state, closer to family or friends.

Overall, volume of sales is down but prices remain stable. Some of this is seasonal, some of it has to do with the lack of inventory and increased interest rates.

The Fed has indicated they plan to cut rates in 2024 - data from new home sellers seem to indicate 6% is the sweet spot. If rates drop to 6% or less, I expect we'll see even stronger buyer demand. When do you plan to jump off the fence?

This has been a project close to my heart. My son and his wife bought their first house just over two years ago and began renovations in the living room - partly because that domed ceiling in the "before" picture was installed without proper engineering or permits by a prior owner, partly because they didn't like it. The fireplace still needs to be done (the plans are to recreate a 1930s fireplace with green tile more consistent with the age of the home), but at long last they can use what is the largest room in their house. You can see, is tired. Stay tuned for the next project ....
