🇺🇸 Some people just quietly spend their lives serving others—and U.S. Army Veteran Jamey is one of them.
Jamey served our country as an Army Infantryman with the 101st Airborne Division, including a deployment to Afghanistan. Today, that heart for service continues through his involvement with Team Rubicon, where he continues to step up and help communities recover after disasters.
Six years ago, I had the privilege of helping Jamey buy his first home on 5 acres. He was so excited to have some land, raise chickens, and start making it his own—and yes, I’ve even been lucky enough to get some of those farm-fresh eggs! 🥚❤️
But even after all this time, purchasing a mower big enough to maintain five acres just wasn’t in the cards. Jamey has relied on borrowing a mower from his neighbor to keep up with his property. And because that’s the kind of person he is, he would return the favor by mowing his neighbor’s property too.
That tells you a lot about Jamey. Even when he could use a helping hand himself, he’s still looking for a way to help someone else.
So when I heard that Bad Boy Josh - Wichita Falls, along with several local businesses, were coming together to bless a veteran in need with a new mower, I immediately thought of Jamey. I knew he deserved to be nominated—and apparently everyone involved felt the same way. 🇺🇸
To every person and business who helped make this incredible gift possible, THANK YOU for supporting our veterans and showing what it means to take care of people in our community. ❤️
And Jamey, thank you for serving our country, for continuing to serve others, and for reminding us that service doesn’t always end when the uniform comes off.💙
