She recognizes that well-maintained properties attract exceptional tenants. Ashton envisions purchasing and developing affordable housing under Ashton Real Estate Group to ensure safe and comfortable homes are accessible to everyone. When Ashton isn’t managing properties, she has her hands deep in soil managing a nursery she started at home. She grows herbs, fruits, vegetables, and house plants. It’s something she enjoys doing with the youth she shares her home with through fostering. She started gardening after researching natural remedies to relieve stress. Ashton learned it could boost the immune system, improve hand strength, self-esteem and also be good for one’s heart. Her foster sons also enjoy gardening. Ashton began fostering years ago when she recognized she could make a difference in the lives of young people. She hopes to start foster care support-programs for parents and the youth in the system. By connecting community members and entrepreneurs to foster youth for mentoring, Ashton hopes to empower youth and positively change their outlook on life. Her goal is to create stable relationships for youth. Together they will explore coding, braille, plumbing, lawn care, cosmetology, culinary, accounting, banking, legal dictation, and auto mechanics. Other components of her foster care program will equip foster parents with the tools needed to properly support the youth in their care. She will coach them through sensitivity training and cultural education among other things. Ashton will continue to grow her ventures and pour back into Kansas communities. One thing is for sure–Ashton loves Kansas!
