We are pleased to share that our own, Chris Huffman P.E., was asked to participate in the 6th International Symposium on Highway Geometric Design. The conference was held in Amsterdam from June 26th-June 29th.
Chris is one of our state certified appraisers, and he is also a professional engineer with expertise in transportation engineering. He has over 29 years experience with the Kansas Department of Transportation and over 20 years experience working with the Transportation Research Board.
At the conference in Amsterdam, Chris, along with two other colleagues, lead and presented a workshop, Access Management, to illustrate how connection management is combined into transportation and land-use through various lenses: safety, mobility, economy, and livability. He shared a variety of metrics to show how poor connection management can have negative public impacts and also educated the attendees regarding the best practices on a global scale.
Not only did he present this very informative workshop, he also presented a paper on The Demand Side of the Equation: Understanding the Resistance to Access Management Application in the Real World.
