Here are 5 things I’d check around your home this time of year:

🏡 HVAC: Replace your filter and make sure your system is ready for the seasonal switch.

🍂 Gutters + downspouts: Clear out debris and make sure water is being directed away from your foundation.

🪟 Windows + doors: Check weatherstripping and look for obvious gaps or drafts.

🔎 Roof + exterior: Take a quick look for damaged shingles, loose siding or other areas that may need attention.

🚨 Smoke + CO detectors: Test your detectors and replace batteries as needed.

From September 19 through October 4, homes throughout the Wichita area will be open on weekends from 1-5 PM. It’s such a fun way to explore different builders, floor plans and finishes, and maybe even get a few ideas for your own home along the way! 😉

One thing I always want people to know before they start touring:

If you’re already working with a Realtor, let the agent or representative at the home know you’re represented when you arrive.

And if you find a home or builder you LOVE, having your own agent involved from the beginning means you have someone in your corner to help you navigate the questions, contracts, timelines, inspections and decisions that may come next!!

The average sales price reached $319,132 in August, up 6.3% from last year, while Sedgwick County remains at just 2.4 months of housing supply.
