From my monthly "From the Heart" letter:
From my heart to yours, I wanted to share a few updates, joyful moments, and some changes ahead. Life is full of change, and as John Eldredge has said, all of life is frontier. My dear friend, protégé, and business partner Isaac has decided to spread his wings and chart a new path. As Ecclesiastes reminds us, there is a time for everything, and I’m deeply grateful for the time Isaac and I have shared in this industry. We part as friends and continue to enjoy a close personal relationship, which I value greatly. I’ve come to see this life as a gift, not something to be gained, and with that perspective I’m thankful for the season we shared and genuinely excited to see what the Lord has ahead in this next chapter. This transition has brought a renewed sense of ownership and energy to our team, and I’m looking forward to what’s to come.
On a practical note, while Isaac is moving on, I will continue working alongside our dedicated transaction coordinator, and Katie, our exceptional and personable real estate assistant. We are well-positioned for continued growth and, most importantly, to serve and care for our many friends and clients. Moving forward, we will simply be known as The Walden Group, and this will mark the transition from the Walden and Sprague Newsletter to “From the Heart,” a monthly letter where I’ll share family updates, encouraging reflections, and honest thoughts you’ve come to expect from me.
Family Update: As I reflect on the past year and this season of business and life, I’m grateful for God’s many undeserved graces. From a quality business partnership at a critical time, to adding an outstanding transaction coordinator alongside Katie, to our growing family and close friendships, I’m truly thankful. Though there have been challenges, I believe they’ve strengthened us. Two weeks ago, my grandfather passed away, and I had the honor of officiating his funeral. Just a day before, I also had the privilege of officiating a wedding for family. It’s been a meaningful reminder that life holds both sorrow and celebration, often closer together than we expect. At home, we’re in a full and active season. Hailey is a senior and will be graduating in a couple of weeks. Hailey and Bella are enjoying soccer, and the boys are staying busy with basketball. It’s been rewarding to watch each of them begin carving out their own path. Leo has been working diligently to maximize his athletic potential and is raising his own funds for a club basketball opportunity. Hayden is doing the same in his own way, researching and working toward launching a mobile car detailing business. At just 14, he’s already showing initiative, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a full schedule serving friends and family once he’s able to drive.
Food For Thought: How are you handling life’s many changes these days? Do you view life as a gift, or something to be gained, something to hold tightly? Or are you able to rest in the care of a good Father, walking with steady confidence and peace? Are you remembering there is a time for everything, even a time to grieve? If you ever want to share, I’d genuinely enjoy sitting down over coffee and hearing how life is going for you.
P.S. Thank you for being part of my business and my life. I never take for granted the trust you place in me. If someone you care about is navigating a move, I’d be honored to be a calm, trusted voice for them.
