20 years? How about 20 times left… a different perspective to life.

Somebody says, I got 20 more years. Jot this down — you've got 20 more times. If you go fishing once a year, you've only got 20 more times to go fishing.

Jim dropped this line at a seminar, almost casually. But it hit the audience like a thunderclap. You could hear people stop breathing.

Twenty more years sounds like a lot. Twenty more times sounds like almost nothing.

And that's the whole point.

We think in years because years feel generous. "I've got plenty of time." But when you convert years into actual events — the things that make life worth living — the number shrinks fast.

If you see your parents twice a year, and they've got 15 years left — you've got 30 more visits. That's it. Thirty more dinners, thirty more conversations, thirty more chances to say what matters.
