Waiting for home prices to come down? Here's why that's likely not the best course of action. Most forecasts are predicting another 7.5% increase on home prices this year compared to 2021 and interest rates have a very real possibility of jumping up a full percentage point by the end of the year. That means, a $250,000 house last year will cost $268,750 this year and your principal and interest will jump from $1,074 to $1,269. The real kicker is that over the life of a 30yr loan, you'll pay 49% more interest (103k up to 154k). Now may very well be your best available time to buy. Let me know if I can help.
