Babies born in 2025 will mark the start of Generation Beta, a new peer group that follows Gen Alpha (2010–2024), Gen Z (1996–2010), and Millennials (1981–1996). According to futurist Mark McCrindle, who coined the term “Generation Alpha,” Gen Beta will live in a world shaped by rapid technological advancements and pressing global challenges.
By 2035, Gen Beta is projected to make up 16% of the global population, growing up in a world where artificial intelligence and automation are deeply integrated into daily life—impacting everything from education and work to healthcare and entertainment. Sustainability will also be a defining value for this generation as they face the ongoing challenges of climate change, population shifts, and urbanization.
Parents of Gen Beta, primarily Gen Zers, may take a more cautious approach to social media, prioritizing limits on screen time based on their own experiences. Meanwhile, Gen Betas will grow up in a post-pandemic world, learning about COVID-19 in history class rather than experiencing it firsthand.
By the time they’re eligible to vote, Gen Beta will likely see Gen Z in political leadership roles, with climate change remaining a central issue. As McCrindle and generational researcher Jason Dorsey highlight, Gen Beta will inherit a world of innovation and challenges, shaping their priorities and impact on the future.
