🐾 SEPTEMBER 8 — NATIONAL DOG WALKER APPRECIATION DAY! 🐾

Today, we’re celebrating the responsible dog walkers who help keep their four-legged friends happy, healthy, and active! 🐶❤️

As you enjoy a walk around Williamstown, the Zoning Administrator would like to offer a few friendly reminders about responsible pet ownership and local ordinances:

🦮 Leash & Control: Dogs should be on a leash or under direct control when off their owner’s property.

🏡 At Home: Dogs must remain on their owner’s premises unless properly restrained.

🔊 Be a Good Neighbor: Continuous barking for more than 15 minutes may be considered a nuisance. Please be mindful of your neighbors.

🚶 Respect Public Spaces: When walking your dog, please be considerate of sidewalks, streets, rights-of-way, neighboring properties, and other pedestrians.

💩 Clean Up After Your Pet: Please always pick up and properly dispose of pet waste. It’s a small courtesy that makes a big difference for our community!

⚠️ City Limits Reminder: Williamstown ordinances also address the ownership and keeping of certain dogs within city limits, including certain types of pit bulls, Rottweilers, and bull mastiffs. Please be sure you are familiar with applicable city requirements.

These reminders help promote responsible pet ownership, public safety, and a clean and welcoming community for residents, visitors, and our four-legged friends.

Thank you to all of our responsible dog owners and walkers for doing your part to make Williamstown a great place to live, work, walk, and play! 🐾💙
