💌🎗 ANNOUNCEMENT/SAVE THE DATE 🎗💌 PLEASE SHARE! 🥰
On Thursday, October 23rd, we are having a BIG fundraiser - our 1st Annual "Sip for Strength" Event - with all of the event proceeds going to our local Bras for a Cause Organization! ❤️
Did you know that Bras for a Cause donates all of their earnings to LOCAL people in our very own community, who are fighting cancer? I think alot of people think it's for breast cancer patients only but, they actually help ALL cancer patients!
Now, for my "why." My auntie Marti is actually who founded our local Bras for a Cause chapter. Cancer hadn't hit me too close to home at that point, but I was still overcome with proudness that she started this amazing resource for families who were struggling. I watched her absolutely THRIVE - hosting all of these fundraisers and events - and hearing from people I personally knew, who were being helped by this beautiful organization. I was in awe of her heart, determination and commitment to helping these families. My dad, Neal, was a HUGE supporter of their events every year. I don't think he missed a single one - and he was always bidding on the coolest bras of that season's bra auction. (I found about 10 of them in his house the other day, which you will see on display at our event 🥰)
Then, cancer did hit me close to home. My dad was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer. He never wanted to accept financial help, because he always thought that others should be given it before him. Many years into his diagnosis, I applied for help from Bras for a Cause, because he needed it. They immediately helped us - and what a relief it was. Fast forward a couple years... and we were running out of money. Cancer is EXPENSIVE. We had to up and move our whole lives for a couple months to Minnesota - and Bras for a Cause gave us a SECOND check. That check paid for our lodging for alot of that Minnesota move - and without it, we would have been in a bind. I remember telling my dad about that second check - and he just cried and cried. Knowing that that is probably how ALL of the families feel when they receive their help, makes me wish I could do something HUGE for this amazing organization. I'm only so big, but I'm committing to doing what I can. I know that with the help of our loyal customers & the people of our amazing community, we can make this fundraiser a good turnout. We are hoping to make this an annual event, that we can continue doing year after year.
On Wednesday, we will be posting ALL of the details! We have some super fun things planned - things for you to win, ways for you to donate and ways for you to participate even if you don't have the means to donate.
Check back here - Wednesday at 7PM - to get all the deets for our 1st Annual "Sip for Strength" Event. ☕
