Just a few miles down the road is home… Pender County, North Carolina. 🤍

To most people, it’s a few small towns north of Wilmington. But when I look around, I see so much more than that.

I see Saturday mornings wandering through downtown Burgaw, grabbing coffee and popping into local shops.

I see the North Carolina Blueberry Festival every June, when the whole town comes alive, listening to live music and catching up with friends they haven’t seen in a while.

I see afternoons spent on our rivers, backroads lined with farmland, and sunsets over open fields that stop you in your tracks.

I see antique hunting at Burgaw Antiqueplace, walking the trails at Moores Creek, and random small-town parades that somehow never get old.

I see grabbing a hot dog from Paul's Place, stopping by Scoops Ice Cream Parlor, Burgaw NC for ice cream on a hot summer day, and community events that somehow make a big county feel like a small town.

I see neighbors who still wave when they pass by. The kind who check on each other after a storm, lend a hand when it’s needed, and make a place feel like home.

And when spring rolls around, the azaleas start blooming, everything turns green again, and before long we’re right back to blueberry season.

I know Pender County isn’t perfect, and we’d never claim to be.

But if you slow down long enough to appreciate what we have here, and take the time to know your neighbors, it’s hard not to love this place.

Maybe I’m biased, but places like this are getting harder and harder to find. 💙

Patty’s Place is a hidden gem in Pender County! The menu variety is impressive, and I was thrilled to find genuine gluten-free options! The food itself was absolutely amazing, and the service was friendly and attentive from start to finish. Oh, and did I mention they serve coffee? It truly has everything you could want. Highly recommend Patty's Place to anyone looking for a great meal in the area!

Some days look like...

- 🌊 Surfing at sunrise
- Being in the office by 9 (coffee in hand of course)
- Working from my front porch in the late afternoons previewing historic homes and searching all resources trying to find my buyers a home ($400-700k, no neighbors, no HOA, minimum 2200 sq feet and preferably in Burgaw or Rocky Point❤️)

Pender County keeps giving me every reason to love this life...God is so good and I truly love what I do and being able to help others.

If you’ve been thinking about moving to Pender County, here are a few things you should know before you do: 👇

1. The best coffee shop is Brown Dog Coffee Company.

2. The best breakfast/brunch is Patty’s Place

3. The best casual spot for lunch is Bandanas American Grill

4. My fave place to take visitors is the Moores Creek National Battlefield – easy trails, pretty bridges, dog-friendly, and doesn’t take all day.

But I also really need to tell you I am a big fan of the Blueberry Fest in Burgaw… it is HUGE, tons of food, live music, vendors and blueberries, duh! (And it’s hot—this event is in June 😅)

5. If you're a shopper then you must stop by The Old Farm Shed!

I am also a frequent flyer at Burgaw Antique Place, East Coast Collective, and Humphrey Farms.

6. The best hardware store (according to my husband)… is Lanier Hardware

But the thing I love most about Pender County is… you get more for your money.
More space, more privacy, and less HOA!

You can literally see our little town growing… and at a nice steady pace I can appreciate.

- FSBO homes sold for a median of $360,000 vs. $425,000 for agent-assisted sales...an 18% gap. Even after paying commission, agent-represented sellers walked away with ~$40,000 more in net proceeds.
