"What's the Future of the Coast Guard site off of River Road?"

Why do I care? Because you will pass this 210 acre site on your way to check out a waterfront neighborhood where my handsome brick home with a boat slip is for sale and is located at 104 River Court, Wilmington, NC 28412.

Driving down Sanders Road onto River Road, you will see this 2010 decommissioned Coast Guard LORAN (i.e., Long Range Aids to Navigation Station) land site that was a pre-GPS communication system used to help ships navigate. As of 2024, according to Lt. Carl Hendrickson, Waterways Management Division Chief with the Coast Guard Sector NC, "there are no current plans for reactivating or for selling this surplus Federal property." It seems there will be more green space for one of the fastest-growing metros in the country.

Judging Model Homes for the Parade of Homes”

Although a Realtor® is not allowed to judge builder homes in their hometown to prevent bias, I enjoyed previewing homes for the 2024 HBADOC Parade of Homes. Thanks to Julie Carrow, Director of Special Events, HomeBuilder Association of Durham, Orange & Chatham and our caravan volunteer, Scott Jansen, Owner, MPI Foam, I visited homes with attention to detail and features for starter homes and luxury properties. It was an exercise in writing, time management, and engagement.

And for my "Ridealong Realtors-Rob Dove, Mungo Homes and Libby Carpenter, Brunswick Forest, your insights, laughter and serious comments made the whole day go by faster than fast. Thank you.

Take your rod and reel, a hook, line and some kind of bait or lure, and enjoy Wilmington NC’s coastal boating activity. Find live, frozen & plastic fishing tackle, gasoline, cold drinks, and a variety of food take-outs at Masonboro Country Store 4505 Masonboro Loop Road.

Another good catch--You can pick up the free Fisherman’s Post news. I met the nicest store owner and my buyers purchased a lovely cottage with access to a boat dock, boat ramp, and have deeded water access into the neighboring Sound View subdivision.
