The housing boom in the USA comes to an end
Due to low sales and the rise of costs, the sales of houses are at the lowest level since the pandemic started. The price on supplies became bigger (only the lumber price rose 300%), and the building materials were delayed due to the Covid.

The builders cannot afford to put affordable prices due to the shortages of appliances, labor, and lack of land. Builders also can’t find enough carpenters, bricklayers, and other skilled craftsmen to do the work. For that reason, housing affordability for most Americans is so low these days.
The median price of a newly built home in June rose just 6% from June. It’s a relatively small number compared to 2020.

Unfortunately, buyers in June will also face higher mortgage rates, and this is a problem. As the prices of real estate went up, the potential buyers cannot afford to agree on higher mortgage rates.
The median existing home price for all housing types in June was $363,300, up 23.4% from June 2020 ($294,400), as every region recorded price jumps.
The inventory of new homes for sale rose to 6.3 months from 5.5 months. That’s how long it would take to sell all the houses listed for sale at the current pace of home buying.
