On June 6, 1944, Allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy in the largest amphibious invasion in military history. The courage and sacrifice displayed that day helped change the course of World War II and remains an enduring reminder of the cost of freedom.
At sunset on June 6, the Battleship NORTH CAROLINA will be illuminated in observance of the 82nd anniversary of D-Day. We invite our community to pause, reflect, and remember those who served and those who never returned home.
