We love you, Dolly! ❤️❤️

On May 6, 1978, Dolly Parton performed on the steps of Handley High School in Wi******er, Virginia. Many young people who could not attend remembered sitting on porches along Washington and Jefferson Streets, hearing her voice as clear as day. Imagine relaxing in a lawn chair in your own yard while a live Dolly Parton concert drifted through Wi******er. What a night that must have been.

Dolly died today at the age of 80. Through her music, movies, humor, and generosity, she gave us a lifetime of entertainment and became part of our childhoods. She seemed as though she would be here forever. Today, another incredible light from our childhood has gone out—but in Wi******er, we will always remember when her voice floated beyond the Handley steps.
