Energy Saving Tips for these Hot Hot Days! ☀️ Keep the heat out
Close blinds/curtains during the hottest part of the day, especially on sunny windows.
Use blackout or thermal curtains if your apartment gets strong afternoon sun.
Keep windows and doors closed when the AC is running.

❄️ Use your AC efficiently
Set the thermostat around 75–78°F when you're home, if comfortable.
Raise the setting a few degrees when you're away.
Avoid turning the AC extremely low to cool the apartment faster—it doesn't generally cool faster, but it can run longer.
Keep vents unobstructed by furniture or curtains.

🌀 Make fans do more work
Ceiling fans can let you set the AC a little higher while maintaining comfort.
Turn fans off when you leave the room—they cool people, not the room itself.
A box or window fan can help exhaust hot air in the evening.
🍳 Reduce indoor heat
Use the microwave, toaster oven, or outdoor grill instead of the oven when possible.
Run the dishwasher and laundry during cooler/evening hours.
Turn off lights and electronics you aren't using.

💧 Small changes that help
Take shorter, cooler showers to reduce heat and humidity.
Use the bathroom exhaust fan during and shortly after showers.
Don't block your AC's return-air vent.
Keep refrigerator/freezer doors closed as much as possible.
