Join the DMPD & various agencies from across the nation for their event National Night Out in Beaverdale this Tuesday 8/4 from 6pm-8pm 😎🚨
On Tuesday, August 4th, 2026, residents of Des Moines are invited to join millions of citizens and law enforcement agencies across the nation in supporting a unique crime and drug prevention event called “National Night Out”.
This is the 37th year that Des Moines has participated in this nationwide event and the 42nd year nationally.
Come on out to one of these locations and join us and your neighbors!
Beaverdale Neighborhood 6:00-8:00pm, Beaver & Franklin, Snookies Ice Cream will be open for purchases, Free hot dogs, chips and water while supplies last. Isisserettes perform at 6:30pm, DC and Marvel Super Hero’s, mini golf, and a dunk tank. Lots of fun activities.
Cheatom Park, King-Irving, Mondamin-Presidential, Good Park, & Chautauqua Park, and River Bend Neighborhood: 5:30-7:30pm; Evelyn Davis Park Food provided. Activities and games for kids, along with a vendor fair.
Douglas Acres Neighborhood: 6:00-8:00pm, Hy-Vee Euclid Room- 2540 E Euclid. Hot Dogs, Hamburgers and fun.
Drake Park Neighborhood: 5:00-8:00pm, 2300 Drake Park, fun and fellowship.
Easter Lake Neighborhood: 5:45-7:30pm, Easter Lake Event Center, 2816 Shoreline Rd ; Bring your own brown bag dinner.
Fairmont Park Neighborhood: 5:00-7:00pm Fairmont Park 2520 Hull Ave. We will have food and beverages available, balloon animals, and fun.
Gray’s Woods: 6:00-8:00pm, Four-Mile Community Center, 3711 Easton, Food and fellowship.
Gray’s Lake Neighborhood: 6:00-8:00pm, Grey’s Lake, North side by playground/concessions. Ice cream floats will supply lasts.
Ligutti Towers: 1:00-2:30pm, on the 9th floor patio, walking tacos, raffle and prizes.
McKinley School/Columbus Park, Indianola Hills Neighborhoods: 5:30-8:30pm, Columbus Park- 1921 SE 1st Street. Neighborhood potluck. Games and fun!!
Merle Hay Neighborhood: 6:00-8:00pm, 4900 Hickman Rd at Tower Park. Vendor booths, cold treats, food, giveaways, games, vendors and safety information.
North of Grand Neighborhood: 6:00-8:00pm, 3801 Ingersoll, Boesen’s Parking Lot, Pizza, water, ice pops, raffles, games and more fun.
Oakridge Neighborhood: 5:00-7:00pm, 926 Oakridge, Food and fun. A variety of vendors, bounce house, face painting, and more.
Polk County Sheriff’s: 5:00-7:30pm, 5995 NE 14th St.
Salisbury Oaks Neighborhood: 5:30-8:00pm Greenwood Park 100 45th St Jay Spence Shelter Main dish provided, neighbors are encouraged to bring a side or a dessert. Having a school supply drive, and asking those who can, to bring supplies for the DMPS students.
Sherman Hill: 5:30-7:30pm; Big Grove Brewery 555 17th. Games and other activities.
Sheridan Gardens Neighborhood: 5:00pm-7:30, 4100 E Sheridan, food provided, fun games and prizes.
South Central Neighborhoods: 6:00-7:30pm, Walnut Creek South 3516 SE 14th,
Baratta’s will cater, kid’s games, raffle with prizes and school supplies (while supplies last).
Southwestern Hills Neighborhood: 5:00-7:00pm, Wakonda Christian Church- 4938 Fleur Drive. Food: sandwiches, fruit, cookies, and drinks by Hy-Vee. We will have prizes and attractions! Fun for all ages
Summit House Condo’s: 6:00-8:00pm, 2880 Grand Ave, Summer Salad Supper Potluck.
Sutton Hill Apartments: 4:00-6:00pm, 2100 E King, Cheeseburgers and hot dogs, while supplies last. A limited number of backpacks and school supplies will be given out.
Union Park Neighborhood; 5:00-7:00pm Union Park United Methodist Church, 2305 E 12th St. Food, games & prizes.
Waterbury, Waveland Woods, and Waveland Park Neighborhoods: 5:30-7:30pm Roosevelt HS front lawn. Some food provided, while supplies last, Live music, kids’ games and activities, bounce house.
Watrous Heights Neighborhood: 5:00-7:00pm, Park Avenue School, 3141 SW 9th: Pizza, water cookies, games, magician, face painting, and other kid events. Inflatables, face painting and more.
