The vision started long before the home.
Before this house was built in 1993, our client lived in the apartments directly behind this property. Back in the late ’80s she would look out toward this piece of land and tell herself, “One day, I’m going to build my home right there.” At the time, it was just a vision.
As the years passed by, she never changed her visions. Her and her husband continued to save and planned for their future. Eventually, they had saved enough and in 1993, they built the home she had spent years looking out of an apartment window imagining. Her dream became their home.
Now more than 30 years later, it was time to close that chapter and the beginning of another. The buyer of their home wasn’t a stranger. It was someone our seller worked with; someone who had a dream of her own to become a homeowner.
Our seller knew what that dream felt like because decades earlier, she had been that person. She knew what it was like to want something that wasn’t quite within reach yet. To save. To work. To imagine yourself living somewhere you couldn’t afford today but hoped you could someday call home.
The buyer had a a max budget lower than the list price and our sellers could have held out for more. Instead, they chose to lower the price to meet the buyer’s budget and give someone else an opportunity to experience what they had experienced more than 30 years earlier.
The feeling of finally becoming a homeowner.
