A major AI‑focused data center is planned for the Windsor area, and it’s one of the biggest tech‑infrastructure projects Northern Colorado has seen. The project centers on the former Carestream/Kodak industrial site in unincorporated Weld County, just east of Windsor, and is being developed by Global AI, a company specializing in high‑performance, liquid‑cooled data centers built for advanced AI workloads.
- A large-scale AI data center campus on roughly 438-500 acres of industrial land.
- The property is located at 2000 Howard Smith Avenue, Windsor, Colo.
- It currently sits in unincorporated Weld County, but Global AI can choose to annex into either Windsor or Greeley.
- Liquid-cooled AI data centers use significant water and electricity of up to 300,000 gallons per day.
- This is happening in Cheyenne, Wyoming as well.
Why is no one talking about this, the major implications of our water, and the LONG term effects this will have??
