Women in Construction week....
I've seen many posts about this week over the last few years and I found my favorite this year.
"We don't build buildings, we build up the people who build buildings."
Our team has a vast array of skills, talents and job descriptions and our ladies are at every table and every conversation in the company. But most of us are not out running equipment or laying tile. We are in the conversations that move the needle, ensure seamless cost management and ex*****on. We are managing the front facing details that each platform sees on social media. We are at the development table, ensuring clients are taken care of and getting the best deal. We are managing operation details for project excellence. We build up everyone in our company, not just the guys in the field, but everyone who is a piece of the project. Allowing them to perform at their best. Women should be at every table and on every team, for all the things they bring and just for being who they are. As we celebrate this week, thank a woman in construction who inspired you to keep moving, when a project was tough. Encourage a team member that she is a vital part of your team. And, if you see a spark in a woman you know, tell her that her tenacity would do well in construction and nurture her. Building people up is the not the only work we do but it is the most important work we do.
