From our Lewis County Business to yours Be Aware!!!
⚠️ LOCAL BUSINESS WARNING — PLEASE BE AWARE ⚠️ We want to make other local businesses aware of a recent situation we experienced involving a fraudulent generator purchase.
An individual identifying himself as Jacob Miller purchased a generator from our business using a credit card. At the time of the transaction, the payment was approved and appeared to go through normally. After the generator was delivered, we were notified that the credit card transaction had been reported as fraudulent.
As a result, our business is now out more than $10,000 for the generator and associated loss.
We are sharing this as a warning to other local businesses, especially those selling high-dollar equipment. Unfortunately, an approved credit card transaction does not always mean the transaction is legitimate.
Please take extra precautions with large purchases and verify payment information carefully before releasing expensive equipment.
We are currently documenting the situation and taking the appropriate steps.
