One of my favorite parts of being a real estate agent is discovering the stories hidden inside the buildings themselves.

While waiting for buyers during showings today, I had a little extra time to slow down and really take in the details of this incredible mid-century lobby in Chicago. The more I looked, the more I realized the entire space is anchored by an extraordinary sculptural wall created by Abbott Pattison.

Pattison was a Chicago-born sculptor whose work can be found in museums, universities, libraries, churches, and public spaces around the world. After serving in the Navy during World War II, he taught at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and became internationally recognized for his abstract sculptures, with works in collections including the Art Institute of Chicago, the Whitney Museum, and even Buckingham Palace.

What made the discovery even more meaningful was learning that Pattison lived in Winnetka for more than 35 years. I love those unexpected moments where Chicago architecture, North Shore history, and local art all intersect.

It’s one of the things I enjoy most about real estate. Every building has a story. Every neighborhood has layers of history, architecture, and design that most people walk past without ever noticing. If you slow down and pay attention, there is always something fascinating to discover.

Have you ever stumbled across an unexpected piece of history or public art in Chicago that made you stop and look twice? I’d love to hear about it.

JUST LISTED | Designer Penthouse in East Lakeview

Perched on the penthouse level, this fully renovated designer residence showcases sweeping 180° views of Lake Michigan, Belmont Harbor, and the Chicago skyline from nearly every room. Wake up to the sunrise over the lake, watch sailboats drift through the harbor, and take in sparkling city lights after sunset. With east, south, and west exposures, the view becomes the focal point of every moment and truly serves as the art of the home.

Inside, you’ll find a sophisticated designer renovation featuring wide-plank floors, sleek European cabinetry, premium appliances, and a stunning 12-foot quartzite island designed for effortless entertaining.

After more than a decade of spring markets, I’ve noticed buyers almost always shift their priorities once they start walking through homes. The things they felt so sure about online suddenly become more flexible, the must-have list gets a little quieter, and then one house stands out for a reason they didn’t expect—maybe it’s the light coming through a back window, the view you didn’t see in the photos, or a quiet corner that just feels like the perfect place to unwind. It happens almost every time—people start the search thinking logically, and somewhere in the middle of a showing they start paying attention to how a home actually feels. Spring markets have a way of doing that.

Things I’ll Do As Your Real Estate Agent

I’m the agent who answers the phone—even at midnight—when something’s on your mind and you need real answers, not voicemail.

I know how overwhelming this process can feel, and my job is to make sure you never feel like you’re figuring it out alone.

And when you find the one? I’m already on my way—whether that means a last-minute showing nearby or a drive to Wisconsin to walk a lakefront property; I’m making sure you don’t miss an opportunity.

I move fast, I stay accessible, and I show up when it matters most.

If you’re looking for an agent who’s all in, let’s talk. What are you hoping to find in your next move?
