Before the camera arrives, the real work begins. 📸

One of the first steps is removing some of the personal and visual clutter that can distract buyers. A good rule of thumb? Pack away anything smaller than a football — and anything with eyes. 😄

Yes, really. Family photos, trophies, collections, and even some décor may mean a lot to us, but they can pull a buyer’s attention away from the home itself.

I also provide staging guidance, including simple adjustments to furniture, décor, and lighting. And when possible, professional photography is scheduled for the time of day when the home receives its best natural light.

Professional measuring is another important part of the process, helping make sure the listing information is accurate and useful to buyers.

The goal isn’t to make your home look like someone else’s home. It’s to present your home clearly, honestly, and beautifully.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

I remember the days and weeks after the attacks: the shock, the helplessness, and the unsettling feeling of wondering whether we would ever feel completely safe again. That day changed so much about what it meant to live in America.

And yet, in the middle of so much fear and grief, I also remember being encouraged by the way people showed up for one another.

We saw first responders run toward danger. We saw ordinary people step forward to help in extraordinary ways. We saw communities come together to grieve, to serve, to pray, and to care for one another.

Today, we remember those who lost their lives, the families who still carry that loss, and those whose lives were forever changed by what they witnessed and endured.

May we also remember the compassion, courage, and unity that emerged in the midst of tragedy: and never take for granted the freedoms we have or the people who continue to serve and protect them.

We remember.
