Winston Factory Lofts

Winston Factory Lofts Our Community consists of two buildings, both originally built as Hanes Knitting factories in the Originally built in 1920 by the P. H.

Hanes Company for textile manufacturing, we converted these majestic industrial buildings into 171 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment homes. Construction involved all new mechanical and fire alarm systems; roof, skylight and window replacement; restoration of the façade; new main entrance foyer accessing a new lobby and lounge. We introduced contemporary architectural features throughout while

preserving the attractive historic character of the buildings. Our design has more amenities than any other downtown apartment community and more than virtually all of the condo projects in Winston-Salem. The highlights include:
Indoor Secured Parking
Outdoor Pool (full-size), jetted pool, two gas grills and outdoor fire pit. Two Resident Lounges, with pool tables. Two Fitness Centers
16-seat movie theater
Two roof top decks
Pet Park…pets are welcome! Secure Storage Units

For the unit interiors we’ve gone for an “industrial chic” look, including:

Huge windows in every unit
Loft designs that take advantage of the 13+ foot ceilings
Exposed spiral ductwork
Sealed concrete floors in some units; bamboo or original hardwood floors in others
Fluted columns and exposed brick in most/all units
Granite counter tops with under mount sinks
Stainless steel appliances

We’re located just steps from the Arts District and you’ll be able to walk to plenty of restaurants, night life, and art galleries. In the summer time, we enjoy walking to the Summer on Trade festivals held several times throughout the season. If you’re looking for the best Winston Salem apartments, look no further.

Meet our May Pet of the Month - Franklin!

I met Franklin “just looking” at the Forsyth County Humane Society. He was 3 mo. old and sitting politely at the front of his crate with his back paws sticking out through the bars. He was adopted the day before Halloween and we immediately stopped by a pet store to get his debut look: a sushi costume. He arrived home as both a new family member and a piece of sashimi.

Franklin is named after Franklin the turtle, a beloved kids cartoon turtle, and has grown into quite the young gentleman. He is the undisputed king of the awkward side-eye and is slightly uncomfortable with the concept of existence. I'm convinced in a past life he was either a sickly Victorian child or Marie Antoinette.

Franklin is a dog of distinction and lives by his own set of rules. You must invite him into rooms and onto the couch (maybe he's a vampire). He'll only drink water if I stand beside him but not if I'm looking at him. He's a true connoisseur of comfort and insists on sleeping with his head on a pillow accompanied by a stuffed animal. He also remained mysteriously silent for most of his life and has only recently at 8 years old discovered barking and howling to music. I'm not sure if I've figured him out yet, but I do know that I am his employee.
