Congratulations to Gucci & Raven, our October 2026 Pet Of The Month! Here are a few notes about these two from their family:
I met Raven back in New Mexico over 10 years ago. I was not planning on keeping a cat and had no idea that she would become such a prominent fixture in my life. While I didn't give her the name, Raven was and is so perfect for her that I would never change it. It's somehow mysterious and elegant, which are both things that she kind of usually isn't at all. She is a wonderfully weird lady who wants to socialize but isn't sure how. Her favorite thing to do is roll around in a dry, empty tub with an audience in the bathroom to applaud her and say nice things to her (e.g. "Wow Raven!", "What an amazing tub girl!", "So good! So tub!", etc.) She *will* insist until obliged. In terms of preferences, she would be disgusted by a can of tuna, but eat an entire bag of tortillas if left to her own devices. Her heart remains in the Southwest, I guess; she owes me no explanation. She's a precious little oddball with a heart of gold and an eye full of goop.
Gucci joined us later in 2020. She looked so much like Raven that I was immediately enamored with her, even though I was not looking for a second cat. Like Raven, I did not name her but couldn't dream of a better name. She simply *IS* Gucci. However, she does go by many other names and aliases, including but not limited to Goo, googy, googoo, GucciGirl, Googaroo, Googarella, Guccifer/Guccopher, and Googah. She has a nearly indescribable personality, like if a blender became sentient and could hit whistle tones like Mariah Carey. She loves yelling, being given attention, sitting on top of me, and running so freakin' fast. She hates being ignored and she knows how to speak her mind, sometimes to the detriment of my sanity. But who am I to silence women? The existence of trash bags offends and terrifies her, but she basically loves almost everything and everyone else she has ever encountered.
