There's been a massive uptic in scam / fraudulent air duct cleaning companies popping up and trying to take your money via deposit on Facebook.
As an inspector, I've been asked at times to come behind certain companies who have claimed to have cleaned ducting... Many of those times I have used a camera to enter the air ducts and found it there was no evidence of any cleaning being done whatsoever.
What I can say is, there has been one company that I've inspected after, on more than one occasion, and have referred to my clients and who have been very happy with his services. A real, local business owner, with droves of positive reviews from real people who are local to our community.
Michael Schumaker with VENT PRO not only gets a rave but high praise. If you want somebody who actually has your best interest at heart and will actually tell you if you don't need something done, call him. He does AC ducts and dryer vent cleaning. I've got a ton of clients in this community alone and you all know that if I'm recommending somebody, they're quality... If you have any questions feel free to reach out and if you need me to do an AC duct inspection behind a company you feel may not have done a quality job, I'd be happy to help! Frontline Inspections
**Signs that a company is advertising a scam..**
1. They have no mutual friends or their friends have no mutual friends to you.
2. They have a new profile.
3. They have only joined the group recently.
4. They do not list the name of their business when advertising.
5. They have no contributions other than the advertisements in the groups in which they belong.
6. Quite often, they will not answer questions publicly on a post. They will request to private message you.
7. The phone number that they use is not a local area code.
8. They request a deposit to secure your appointment.
9. The pictures they use in their posts or advertisements are easy to tell they're not accurate representations of the services they provide, the areas that they claim to cover, or the people who are posting the advertisement.
I wish you the best and hope to hear that you're not victim to one of these predatory advertisements.
