For more than 20 years I have watched real estate industry professionals and β€œeconomists” promote hype and spin solely with a goal of driving sales in the end. I get the need to be in business and grow transactions but there has to be a leading goal of educating the marketplace above all even if that means sacrificing sales. I tried in all circumstances of my career to shoot people straight based on their goals, even if it cost me business. I’m not alone in this; thankfully there are many industry pros who operate from the same place but I would estimate there is a balance, possibly even a majority that for ignorance or just self interest, do not care what is best for the client in the end if it costs them a commission.
