One of the biggest misconceptions I hear from buyers is that they will find their dream home almost immediately after starting their search.
The reality is often very different.
As a Broker Associate serving Central Florida, I have learned that buying a home is not simply about finding a property. It is about finding the right fit for your lifestyle, goals, budget, and future plans.
Here is what the data tells us:
📍 The typical buyer tours about 7 homes before finding the one they purchase.
That number does not include the many homes buyers eliminate online before ever scheduling a showing. Most people review dozens of properties before narrowing down their options.
📍 The average home search takes approximately 10 weeks.
And that is only the search process. Once you are under contract, closing can take another 30 to 45 days. From your first search to receiving the keys, a realistic timeline is often three to four months.
📍 Finding the right home is the hardest part.
According to the National Association of Realtors®, 56% of buyers said locating the right property was the most challenging part of the entire process.
