Want to make sure your home sells as quickly as possible and for the highest price? Then it is important to remember you are selling the HOUSE, not your HOME.
Selling your house can be super emotional, and sometimes it doesn't make sense why you should take down certain decor or repaint a room or two, but I promise you - when your realtor suggests it, it is because they have your best interest at heart.
When a buyer enters your house for sale, you want to be sure they can envision THEIR life in the home, not that they understand and see the life you have created there, and often times, it is hard to separate the two and not take things personally.
Unique decor, family photos, personal belongings - they all mean a lot to you, but don't mean a lot to the buyer, and they should be cleared out so that anyone looking at the home is able to envision their furniture, their decor, their new memories being made there.
If you're a seller and you have a super emotional attachment to your home and the things in it (which is totally normal), I suggest hiring a staging team to come in to help you decide what should stay and what should go during the home selling process - for them, it's all business, and not personal, so they are sometimes the better option for making the decisions.
