📊What to know + how to appeal your valuation?
If you haven't received your Property Valuation, you should have it soon. For many of you, the assessed value has gone up. Whether it's a small increase or large, I want to share the information and resources available to understand the appraised value, and how to appeal that valuation if applicable.
o The assessed value is NOT the same as the market value.
o Market value is the amount a buyer is willing to pay for your property.
o The assessed value is the assessor's estimate of the value of the property as of June 30, 2022. Property values for 2023 and 2024 are based on sales that took place between July 1, 2020, and June 30, 2022.
o Real property is reappraised by the Assessor’s Office every odd-numbered year.
