Here's the thing about Markham Woods. You can have an acre, privacy, and quiet without giving up the conveniences you actually use.

In Markham Woods, that looks like:

Wildlife everywhere, but still in the Seminole County school district. Total quiet in the morning, but still a manageable drive into downtown Orlando or Winter Park. Room to breathe, but still close enough to Orlando International Airport plus down the road from Terra Mia’s & Legacy Golf Club.

It's the part of Orlando, Florida people don't think to look at until they realize it gives them both.

The things you only figure out after a year of living in Orlando, Florida.

Here are a few of the unspoken rules around here:

The 3pm thunderstorm in summer is not a surprise. It is a schedule. Plan around it.

I-4 is not "the 4." It's just I-4. And yes, everyone hates it.

"It's not the heat, it's the humidity." You'll say this. You'll mean it.

If there is a body of water in Florida, assume there is an alligator in it. Every pond. Every lake. Every drainage ditch.

Publix is not a grocery store. It is a way of life.

When it hits 60 degrees, you wear a jacket. Do not argue.

The love bugs come twice a year. April and September. They will cover your car. There is nothing you can do other than frequent the car wash.

When a hurricane is coming, someone on the street is already planning a party. You bring the drinks and you ride it out together. And if you lose power, don’t worry, 7-11 will always have coffee.

None of this is written down anywhere! You just pick it up once Orlando, Florida starts to feel like home.
