National Rescue Dog Day πΎ
Rescue dogs come into our lives with a story we may never fully know. We may learn their approximate age, how they arrived at the shelter, or a little about their behavior, but so much of their past remains unwritten to us. What makes rescue so meaningful is the bond that grows from patience, trust, and love.
National Rescue Dog Day, observed on September 9, shines a light on the millions of dogs in shelters who are simply waiting for a safe and loving home. About 3.1 million dogs enter U.S. shelters each year, and far too many never get that second chance.
A rescue dog is not a lesser dog. Not a damaged dog. Just a dog in need of a home.
Today is a reminder that every dog deserves love, security, and the opportunity to belong. Every one of them has the potential to become someoneβs best dog. ππΆ
