Here’s a quick guide on how to adjust your Nest Thermostat (3rd Generation) directly from the wall unit:

🌟 Wake the Display
🚶 Walk in front of the thermostat, or

👉 Tap the touchbar on the right side.

🌡️ Adjusting the Temperature
🔼 Swipe up on the touchbar to raise the temperature.

🔽 Swipe down to lower the temperature.

⚙️ Accessing the Menu
👉 Tap the touchbar to bring up the menu.

🔼🔽 Swipe up or down to highlight an option (like Mode).

✅ Tap again to confirm your selection.

🔥❄️🌬️ Changing the System Mode
👉 Tap the touchbar to open the menu.

🔄 Swipe to highlight Mode.

✅ Tap to select it.

🔄 Swipe to choose Heat 🔥, Cool ❄️, Heat•Cool 🔥❄️, or Fan 🌬️.

✅ Tap again to confirm.

💡 Heat•Cool Mode Explained:

In Heat•Cool mode, the thermostat maintains a temperature range instead of a single setpoint.

The Nest thermostat uses a 3-degree spread. For example:

If you set Heat at 70°F and Cool at 73°F,

The heat turns on if your home drops below 70°F,

The cooling turns on if it rises above 73°F.

This keeps your home comfortable while automatically switching between heating and cooling.

🌀 Turning the Fan On/Off
👉 Tap the touchbar to open the menu.

🔄 Swipe to highlight Fan.

✅ Tap to select it.

🔄 Swipe to choose On or Auto.

✅ Tap again to confirm.

Here are some helpful tips on using and maintaining your garbage disposal to keep it running smoothly. While these appliances are convenient, it’s essential to know what you can and can’t put down them to avoid damage and clogs.

Safe Practices for the Garbage Disposal:
Soft food scraps: small amounts of fruits, veggies, and other soft leftovers (think peels and small pieces)
Citrus peels: great for freshening up the disposal
Small, soft bones: like fish bones, but avoid large or dense bones

Please do not overload the disposal by adding too much waste at one time. Small loads are advised for best results.Always run water while using the garbage disposal.

Items to Avoid:
Grease, oil, or fat: These can solidify in the pipes and cause blockages.
Fibrous vegetables: Such as celery, asparagus, or artichokes. These fibers can tangle and jam the disposal.
Pasta, rice, and bread: They can expand and create clogs.
Coffee grounds: These may seem harmless but can accumulate and form clogs.
Eggshells: They can dull the blades and cause a buildup of ground-up shells in the pipes.
Large bones: Anything larger or thicker than small chicken bones should not go in the disposal.
Non-food items: Plastics, paper, metal, glass, etc., should never be put down the disposal.

How to Clean and Maintain Your Garbage Disposal:
Run cold water: Always use cold water when operating the disposal. This helps keep fats solid and moving through the system.
