“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” — Arthur Ashe 🎾

I’ve been cheering on Ben Shelton at the U.S. Open, so this quote felt especially fitting today.

I’ve always felt a little bit of a special connection to Ben because he was at the University of Florida at the same time as my kids. Add in that he’s a Florida boy and a Gator, and of course I’m going to be rooting for him. 🐊

I love this quote because it’s such a good reminder that you don’t have to have everything figured out before you start. You just start where you are, work with what you have, and keep moving forward.

That applies to tennis, business, real estate, and life.

One of the coolest things about my brokerage is eXp World!

This is me waiting to talk to my broker in our virtual office. 😂 I can pop into eXp World when I have a question, talk to my broker, get help from different departments, take a class or attend a training. It’s actually pretty amazing how much is available right from my computer.

And when I first joined eXp, there was definitely a learning curve for me. I’ve never played video games, so navigating a virtual world was completely new. One of my first times in there I had my avatar going all over the place, somehow ended up behind the broker’s desk and couldn’t figure out how to get out. Finally, one of the assistants said, very tactfully, “Miriam, can I help you?” 😂😂😂

Thankfully I’m a little better at getting around now!

As funny as that was, eXp World has turned out to be one of the things I really appreciate about eXp. I work independently, but when I need help, there are actual people I can go talk to. And there is so much education available, which is really important to me. There is always something new to learn in this business.

“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.” — Confucius ⭐

This one feels especially fitting today.

Sometimes the finish line is much farther away than you expected. What starts as a sprint can turn into a marathon, with detours, setbacks, and a few bruises along the way.

My buyers first went under contract back in February. After months of twists and turns, changing homes, and plenty of obstacles, today they finally crossed the finish line and closed. 🏡

A big part of my job is helping my clients stay positive, focused, and moving forward when the process gets hard. Sometimes you just keep putting one foot in front of the other until you get there.

And today, we got there. 💛

You can plan, think about it, talk about it, wait for the timing to be perfect — but at some point, you just have to do the work.

I missed yesterday, but I still wanted to share this one because it’s a good reminder.

It’s usually not one big decision or one huge accomplishment that gets us where we want to be. It’s the small things we choose to do over and over that make the difference.

Closing day will always be my favorite day.🎊

Not because of the pictures or the keys…but because I know everything it took to get there.

The phone calls. The late-night texts. The inspections. The negotiations. The moments when buyers were excited, overwhelmed, second-guessing themselves, or wondering what came next.
