🪵 LOGS ARE UP IN MACHIAS! 🪵

Larry here with the update you’ve all been waiting for! The crane pulled in at 7 AM sharp, and our crew of 6 has been laying down timber at record speed! 🏗️💥

Here’s a quick tour of how this massive custom log home is shaping up:

Interior Layout: Walkway, laundry room, bathroom, pantry, kitchen, dining area, and a spacious bedroom!

Structural Details: Stairway prepped for the 2nd floor, which will feature an open-to-below design!

Grand Master Porch: Features a custom handcrafted log picnic table from Log Homes Canada and leads right onto a massive 64-foot covered porch overlooking the lake! 🌅

Special shoutout to Colin from he’s built hundreds of log homes all over the world, and working alongside him to bring Brian and Judith’s dream home to life is an absolute honor! 🙌

🔨 DECK MATERIALS ARE IN & LOG SETTING STARTS TUESDAY! 🔨

Things are moving fast on site:

🪵 Decking Delivered: Deck framing materials are officially on-site, and framing starts this week!

🪵Subfloor Complete: The crew is wrapping up the edges and installing the 1x6 band board around the entire outside perimeter—essential for holding the logs off the floor to fit the finish flooring underneath.

🪵Precision Work: Exactly 802 crush blocks installed in the structure to carry the massive timber weight! 🤯

🪵Lakeside Cleanup: The homeowners were up this weekend clearing brush along the water, and we've set up timelapse cameras to catch the entire build process! 🎥🌅

📐 BLUEPRINTS VS. REALITY: Machias Log Home Build! 📐

Larry here with a peek behind the scenes at our Machias project! Ever wonder what goes into prepping a foundation to hold thousands of pounds of solid timber? 🤔

Before we set logs, the structural engineering has to be rock solid. Here’s how we’re prepping the site:

- Heavy-Duty Support: Over 800 crush blocks installed throughout the structure to distribute the massive weight of the log exterior.
- Underground Utilities: 200-amp electrical service, well pump wiring set by our plumber Derek, and a 1,000-gallon underground propane tank tucked neatly into the woods.
- Structural Framing: 20" LVL beams across the front, double PSL posts, and a 48-foot triple LVL center beam.

The View: Walk-out basement leading to a 20x40 covered porch overlooking the lake! 🌅

Countdown is ON: T-minus ~1.5 weeks until log placement begins! 🪵⚡

🏡 FROM DIRT TO A COMPLETED LOG CABIN IN A WEEK! 🏡

Larry here with an incredible update on our Millville project in Bucksport!

As the General Contractor, we handled all the site work:
✅ Complete groundwork & earthwork
✅ Foundation & steel carrying beams set
✅ Prep work for the structure

Then, the team from Zook Cabins came in from Pennsylvania and blew us away! 🚚💨 Delivered Tuesday, craned onto the foundation Wednesday, porch built & roof folded up by Saturday. Talk about fast, quality work! 🙌
