Lowest regional prices in Central Wisconsin don’t always mean affordable monthly payments. 🏡
While buyers here enjoy some of the state’s most accessible price tags, those numbers alone don’t capture what truly matters: how much it costs you every month once higher rates and rising prices are factored in. The squeeze is hitting first-time buyers especially hard, as a shrinking supply of entry-level homes pushes more people to reevaluate their budgets or even hit pause on their search.
What I’m seeing most is a shift in how people approach their options. Some buyers are choosing to wait, hoping that the market or rates improve. Others are exploring homes that might need more work, adjusting their must-haves, or thinking differently about location and property type. Even with more inventory, true entry-level opportunities can still feel out of reach, so it pays to compare the full monthly cost for each option, including not just your loan, but taxes, insurance, and upkeep. 💡
