Not All Realtors Are the Same.
A real estate license tells you someone met the requirements to become an agent. It doesn’t tell you how they’ll perform when hundreds of thousands of dollars—and one of your biggest financial decisions—are on the line.
Realtors bring different levels of experience, judgment, analytical ability, negotiating skill, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills to the table.
So, when you choose an agent, I think it’s fair to ask: What does this person bring to the table beyond a real estate license?
Here’s what I bring.
⚓ 30 years as a Navy JAG. Three decades of advising leaders, negotiating, solving problems, analyzing complicated issues, and helping people make important decisions when the stakes were high. (Note that I am not licensed to practice law in Virginia or provide legal advice as a real estate agent.)
⚖️ An attorney’s eye for detail. Real estate transactions involve contracts, contingencies, deadlines, inspections, negotiations, disclosures, and a lot of moving parts. My legal background has trained me to read carefully, identify issues early, and think several steps ahead.
🏠 Experience as a Virginia Realtor. I understand the Northern Virginia market and the realities of buying and selling in one of the most competitive and complex real estate markets in the country.
🎖️ Military relocation experience. I PCS’d 11 times during my Navy career, including six overseas moves. I understand what it means to buy or sell a home while juggling orders, timelines, schools, commuting, financing, and a household move—because I’ve lived it.
📊 A data-driven approach. Pricing a home shouldn’t be a guess. I combine market data, comparable sales, current inventory, local knowledge, and modern analytical tools—including AI—to help my clients make informed decisions about pricing and strategy.
🤝 Communication and advocacy. I’ve spent a career working with people from all backgrounds, explaining complicated issues in understandable terms, negotiating competing interests, and advocating for the people I represent.
Real estate is something I do because I enjoy helping people navigate major transitions—not because I need to close the next deal.
Not all Realtors are the same. And when you’re choosing someone to represent you in one of the largest financial transactions of your life, the difference matters.
If you’re thinking about buying or selling in Northern Virginia—or just want a second opinion on your options—I’m always happy to have a conversation.
