This girl just beat cancer, whoop whoop!

Cabela is pretty in pink with her new survivor leis! She was first diagnosed with lymphoma in October of 2022 and finished CHOP chemotherapy. CHOP is an acronym for a multi-agent chemotherapy protocol that is used to treat animals with lymphoma and leukemia. There are two types of intravenous chemotherapy and one oral chemotherapy that are administered over a 6-month period. It is split up into four cycles: the first two cycles are weekly treatments and the last two cycles are biweekly treatments. Each drug in the protocol kills the cancer cells in a different way and are alternated to prevent drug resistance and reduce side effects. It is considered the gold standard treatment for dogs with multicentric lymphoma.
